Our story

Matcha Latcha started with one realisation: with matcha, freshness is everything – yet almost nowhere can you find out how long it's been sitting around. So we decided this is exactly what we'd do differently: small batches, fresh grinding and open cards on every edition.

That's why we searched for so long. We approached dozens of suppliers, tasted piles of samples – and rejected most of them. We were looking for a partner in Uji we could work with long-term, one who could guarantee the freshness of every batch – not an anonymous wholesaler with last year's powder.

One more thing: every harvest tastes slightly different – like wine vintages. We don't hide it, we build on it. That's why we grind in small batches sized to our membership and sell in editions tied to a harvest.

We're a married couple from Bratislava and Matcha Latcha is our shared project – an EU-based company, Matcha Latcha s.r.o. (company ID 57381976, Bratislava), with registered EU trademark no. 019241557. Our mission is to give everyone the chance to drink truly fresh matcha.
